Top spot went to George Sainsbury on 92%. The second spot was very tightly and highly contested; coming down after five weeks to one leg in one of the last games - Paul Livermore beating Brian Lees 3-2 to take second on 85.4% with Brian third, less than 1% behind him. Nick Smith had been in contention all the way through, finishing fourth equal with Tyron on 79% after numerous games going to five legs.
The top three places each week were spread over 12 players, the groups changed in size and players week by week.
An award was given to the Best Developing Player, Hugh O'Neill, who obtained the most legs won over the five sessions. Our Chair, Tyron presented the keepsake trophies as momentoes of the players efforts.
We hope those unable to take part this year can do so next year. Our target was 24 (25% of membership). We had 25 entries, 19 participated over the five sessions, with six tables throughout in continuous use, players getting mostly 4 matches per session, sometimes 5 giving many excellent games of TT for pretty well everyone. Many said they had enjoyed the competition and the spirit in which it was played, along with the multi table format getting players of all abilities together in the same venue.
Thanks to everyone for making it work as an enjoyable, friendly, fun but competitive competition.
